Of course you're going to need a court to play on before you can do anything but the only other equipment requirements are a padel racquet and a ball.
The Racquet
The specifications of the racquets used in padel are regulated by the International Federation of Padel. To summarise what is on the FIP website:
- The maximum measurements of racquets are 45.5 cm long, 26 cm wide and 38 mm thick.
- The surface used to hit the ball can be flat, smooth or rough, and should not exceed 30 cm in length.
- The centre of the racket is perforated by an unlimited number of holes each one measuring between 9 and 13 mm.
- The handle of the racquet must have a cord or rope (max length 35cm), which is attached to the players wrist to prevent accidents. Its use is obligatory.
The Ball
There are some specifications about the ball that would be important for competitions and tournaments but essentially the balls used for padel are the equivalent of standard tennis balls that can be bought in any sports store.
